Living Spaces At Eye Of Africa

The original developers coined the estate’s name “Eye of Africa” because it captured the beauty of the region and hinted at its proximity to Johannesburg, the economic hub of Africa. Construction began in 2007 with the infrastructure and first phase of residential properties.

Here the standard of living is only rivaled by the sense of community and facilities available to all residents. The Estate also offers you peace of mind with 24-hour on-site security, access control and patrolling guards to provide a safe and secure lifestyle for you and your family. The Eye of Africa is more than a location; it’s one of South Africa’s best lifestyle estates.

With all the advantages of being close to the economic powerhouse of Africa, but far from the madding crowd, the Eye of Africa Golf & Residential Estate is great place to bring up kids knowing they can wander around safely in a secure and contained, but exciting and just-wild-enough, environment.

The Estate also offers you peace of mind with 24-hour on-site security, access control and patrolling guards to provide a safe and secure lifestyle for you and your family. The entrance gate is also controlled and monitored by using Biometrics (fingerprint recognition) at the gate.

In addition, the 7.5 km long Clearvu fence surrounding the development is a thermal camera detection system. 10-strand electric fencing has been added to the fence to secure the Estate further.

Golf At Eye Of Africa

The course is big and bold with wide inviting fairways leading to large, gently sloping greens that run firm and fast. Many of the tee positions are elevated so golfers can see all before them, eliminating any nasty surprises from hidden bunkers. The 18 holes are routed in an out-and-back fashion through some hilly terrain and such is the scale of the layout – with substantial distances between a number of the holes – the use of a cart during a round is mandatory.  There’s an expansive feel to playing golf on a course like this (where tees can be set up to play as long as 7 200 metres within an estate of more than 725 ha).

Signature Greg Norman Designed Courses

Designed by the legendary Greg (Great White Shark) Norman, the 7 200-metre, par 72 championship course meanders through the natural grassland, looping back on itself. Eye of Africa is the first Greg Norman Golf Course Design (GNGCD) championship course opened in Africa and it sits naturally in some of the highest rolling hills of the Gauteng region. This magnificent course is home to the South African PGA Championship.

Tuition & Driving Range

Whether you are just getting started or have been playing for decades, Eye of Africa Golf Academy offers an affordable lesson package to meet your goals and budget. These lessons focus on fundamentals that build muscle memory and put you in mid-season form when you step on the tee.

Your lesson will consist of a half-hour of personalized instruction from one of the clubhouse’s PGA professionals. While other teaching facilities try to get you to swing like a tour pro, their emphasis is more personal; we want to maximize your abilities. The club’s individual lesson programs are just that, individualised attention, whether you are new to the game or a low handicap golfer.

The driving range, practice green, and short game area are open to visitors and residents.

Eye Of Africa Membership

From the 1st tee to the 18th green, Greg Norman and his expert team have included extensive bunkering and endeavored to integrate the course seamlessly with its stunning natural surrounds. Eye Of Africa offers a variety of different membership types, some including green fees.

Central Park & Restaurant

The Deli space will reopen again soon as a Doppio Zero restaurant with a truly spectacular menu including freshly baked goodies, wood-fired pizzas and much much more…. Opening September 2021. Diners can look forward to the deliciously nutritious meals that Doppio Zero is known for, such as their signature wood-fired Pizza Limone, chicken crunch burger, and pollo al forno pasta.

Doppio Zero started out as a bakery and alfresco cafe in Greenside In March 2002 by entrepreneurs Paul & Miki. Made popular by its freshly made artisan ciabatta, exclusive bakery and meeting place, the aroma of baking kept people coming and they knew they had something special. Over time this evolved into a full-service restaurant with a wide range of Mediterranean specialties and traditional Italian fare. Each of their restaurants has a unique personality but all share the common embodiment of European café culture and the same passion for quality food and service.
