Edenvale is a town located on the East Rand of Johannesburg. With a greater population of 70 000, it is one of the most densely populated areas outside of the inner city. Edenvale comprises a number of residential suburbs, as well as a few industrial corners. The area is well known for its unique landscape and family-friendly atmosphere. There is a ton for the kids to do here, including indoor trampolining, go-karting and zipline adventures. Adults can enjoy a vibrant restaurant scene and numerous retail offerings in Edenvale. Edenvale is packed with side street stores, gift shops, specialty food stores and shopping centres. The suburb is also home to Greenstone Shopping Centre, one of the largest malls on the East Rand. Although Edenvale was once known for its multitude of Chinese restaurants, the dining varieties here have massively expanded in recent years. While it is situated nearby the airport and main highways linking to the CBD, Edenvale is surprisingly scant on business and travel accommodation. Edenvale is home to a number of reputable pre-primary, primary and high schools. Most notable of these schools is Edenvale High School, a co-educational public high school well known for its academic and sporting accomplishments. If you're looking for a pre-primary, primary and high school all rolled into one, Holy Rosary School for Girls is the school for your child. As one of the few private schools in the area, it is a top choice of many parents in the area. Prospective university students should note that Oakfield's College is also situated in the area.
