Change The Lighting

Lighting has the ability to set the mood and create a special ambiance, so why not light some candles or put up fairy lights in the garden? This is a simple way to change the atmosphere of your home. Once you've switched off all the lights in your house, grab a few blankets, some pillows and a bottle of wine and head outside for a night of star gazing. Whether you're just with your partner, or you whole family tags along, this is a great way to spend quality time together.

Outdoor Decor

Setting up a table and chair or adding some outdoor decor is a great way to spruce up your patio or garden. You can then use this space for an outdoor lunch or dinner with the family. After the meal, spend some time with your relatives reminiscing about times gone by or why not battle it out playing these boardgames?

Bring The Cinema Outdoors

If you have a lot of space, you can turn your garden into an outdoor cinema. This is different, exciting and is a great chance to spend quality time with your family. All you'll need to do is hang up a white sheet as a screen and play your family's favourite movies on a projector. If you don't have a projector, use a laptop or portable DVD player and huddle together in front of the small screen. If you're not in the mood to watch Frozen yet again, catch one of these shows on Showmax and Netflix. woman eating popcorn

Get Your Hands Dirty

If you have been neglecting your garden, now is the perfect time to get your hands dirty and turn your garden into a sanctuary. You may be thinking that autumn is the worst time to work on your garden, but it is actually the perfect time to prepare your garden for the coming seasons. Once you've mulched your soil and started a compost heap, it's time to consider what type of garden you would like. You can start a veggie patch, plant a kaleidoscope of flowers or what about a prickly cactus garden? Before transforming your garden, consider your lifestyle and how easy or difficult it will be to maintain your garden. Cactus gardens need a lot of sunlight and little water and are therefore easy to maintain but flowers and vegetable gardens will need more work. gardening and planting

Enjoy A Picnic At Home

Now is the perfect time for a picnic. If you are lucky enough to have a garden, you can set up a picnic blanket and some pillows, pack up the picnic basket with yummy treats and head outdoors for some fun in the sun. But if you don't have a garden, not to worry. Simply set up your picnic in the lounge. The best part about having a picnic at home is you needn't worry about forgetting anything as you can just quickly run to the kitchen for last minute supplies. picnic spots Here are some other ways to stay entertained at home: How are you keeping entertained at home?
