Linden is one of the most exciting, upbeat, and creative suburbs in Joburg. Famous for its local fizz, artsy flair, and entrepreneurial spirit, Linden is the place you’re most likely to bump into your cool friend from college who’s an artist now. Not as flashy as Parkhurst and less student-centric than Melville, Linden strikes the sweet spot of friendly faces, great food, and independent business. Enter The Linden Market, a seasonal two-day pop-up that embodies the spirit of this neighbourhood by taking over The Botanical Gardens at Emmarentia with a vibrant display of colour, craft, and music.
The Linden Market has been running since 2016, and for a decade, it has brought people together four times a year to celebrate local craft, creativity, and community. Rolling lawns and blue skies serve as the backdrop for this market, alongside a thoughtfully curated selection of traders. The Linden Market is the perfect day out for the whole family, with over 150 stalls from local creators, kids’ activities, doggy dates, live entertainment, and food stalls. It runs over two days (Saturday and Sunday), so you’ve got the chance to see it all for just a R60 entrance fee.
