We have some exciting news! Joburg.co.za is proudly celebrating 1000 editions this November. We can hardly believe it! 1000 editions of the best in Joburg entertainment, restaurants, shopping, family fun, and everything else in between. We've been writing up a storm and keeping the city in the loop for more than 20 years. It's definitely something not to be sniffed at. It's a milestone and a great achievement, filled with blood, sweat, and tears (most definitely tears, aplenty!) to bring you the ultimate online destination for all things Joburg.
The History Of Joburg.co.za
We pride ourselves on our online hub that has grown significantly over the years. From small and humble beginnings to leaps and bounds in growth and possibilities, we have seen our beloved platform metamorphosise into something great. Some of you have been part of our family from the very beginning. Others have joined the ride after "the social boom". But either way, we are so grateful to have you all here, on the journey to discovering everything that makes Joburg a fantastic place to be.
Let's take a little trip down Memory Lane, to reminisce on what Joburg.co.za once was, and how we got to where we are today. It has been one amazing journey with all of it's ups and downs, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
Where It All Began
Legend has it, Joburg.co.za started at an office block on Bram Fisher Drive in Randburg in the early 2000s. This was home for many years.
This space will forever hold a special place in our hearts, as this is where Joburg.co.za came to be, starting out with a small team of passionate writers, marketers, and developers.

Anyone remember this website from way back when? We definitely do! This was the Joburg site in the early days. Back when writing up blogs was done with loads of basic coding intertwined between paragraphs, headings, and imagery.
If you're lucky, you might still be able to come across a few of our very first blogs on the current site!

Our Most Successful Competition Campaign
While we were still house at the Randburg offices, we ran an incredibly successful competition campaign partnered and sponsored by Air Mauritius and Holiday Factory in June 2017.
This campaign raked in a total of 20 000 entries into the competition! But let's be honest, who wouldn't love the opportunity to have an all expenses paid holiday to Mauritius!
Moving To Melrose Arch
After many years in Randburg, the company moved to a new space in the stunning precinct of Melrose Arch in 2017. Our team was growing, and we needed a new home where we could expand while being surrounded by beautiful spaces for inspiration.
This was home for almost 4 years until the COVID pandemic hit, and since then, we have been fully remote, with a team of exceptional, highly-skilled, and passionate members from all corners of country and the world.
Joburg.co.za Today
Today, Joburg.co.za is a giant in the Joburg lifestyle realm. We have done two site restructures and rebranding campaigns since our initial site above, and expanded our blog coverage across 23 different categories/niches, ensuring that we cover as much of the city as possible.
And our social platforms are flying!
