It’s no secret that Joburg is home to many great Italian restaurants. And these awesome restaurants offer the perfect spots to celebrate National Pasta Day – which is on 17 October! So, gather your loved ones and dine out at one of these scrumptious pasta hotspots in the city.

Buonissimo!
This Italian eatery has come a long way from the small kitchen tucked away in a garage in Modderfontein. Back in the day, this little place was the go-to for the residents and workers in the area. Now, they have moved to the Flamigo Shopping Centre. They have some of the best pizza in the East and the best pasta in Joburg. We absolutely love the Penne Piccante – pancetta, spicy salami, cherry tomatoes, green pepper, a dash of cream, and flambé with vodka. Delicious!
Café Del Sol
Café Del Sol is run by a real Italian family, so they know about pasta, and theirs is handmade! There are three different restaurants throughout the city: Classico in Honeydew, Botanico in Bryanston, and a location in Steyn City. Each location has different pasta dishes on the menu, so be sure to visit them all for something delicious!

Piza ē Vino
Serving both pizza and pasta, Piza ē Vino offers hearty, soul-warming pastas that will have you coming back for more. You can never go wrong with a Spaghetti Carbonara or a rich lasagna. For something new and interesting, why not try the prawn and pepperoni pasta? Everything at Piza ē Vino is delicious, so no matter what you order, we know you’ll enjoy it!
Modena Italian Eatery
A definite must-visit this National Pasta Day has to be Modena Italian Eatery! You can expect stunning pasta dishes that not only look amazing, but also taste incredible. One of our favourite dishes has to be the Pollo Con Broccoli. This dish features spinach tubetti, grilled chicken, broccoli pesto, cream, garlic and walnuts. There are many other dishes to choose from that are sure to tantalise your taste buds!

SetteBello
SetteBello in Bedfordview is a family-friendly gem well known for its hearty, moreish, and oh-so decadent pasta dishes! Either build your own pasta dish or take your pick from their Settebello Signature Pastas. For a lovely vegetarian option, the Parmigiana Di Melanzane is a must: baked aubergine layered with Napoletana sauce, parmigiano, and mozzarella. If you love seafood, we recommend the Spaghetti Gamberi e Calamari – Spaghetti pasta with de-shelled prawns and calamari, cherry tomatoes, garlic, and a touch of Napoletana sauce.
Bellagio
Located in Illovo, Bellagio is a must-visit when the pasta craving hits! Offering incredible Mediterranean cuisine, crafted with the finest and freshest seasonal produce, you’re sure to be treated to an amazing meal. We love Ricardo’s Tagliatelle: avocado, rocket, chilli, cream, tomato, and bacon. For another incredible option, go for the spaghettini with smoked salmon, vodka, sour cream, dill, and caviar!
