Xavier Restaurant Teases New 'Studio 54' Experience

Joburg Admin / March 11, 2022

Xavier Restaurant opened in Maboneng just short of a year ago. This eclectic space quickly became a popular hangout for artists, musicians, and foodies alike. The amalgamation of gallery, restaurant and nightclub made this one of the most unique venues in Maboneng. The urban warehouse aesthetic also made a great backdrop for Insta-worthy shots. Not to mention Xavier's fabulous fusion menu. Now, Xavier is taking their niche restaurant meets nightclub experience to a whole new level.

Moving out of Maboneng

Xavier recently announced on their social media platforms that they will be moving out of the Maboneng Precinct. While they will be sorely missed in the precinct, we can't wait to find out where their next home will be. A few former Maboneng residents like The Bioscope have moved to the Milpark area, but we suppose only time will tell where Xavier chooses to call home. They have also promised to deliver an experience unlike any other restaurant and bar in the city. "Get ready for a 'Studio 54' like experience like no other," they wrote. If you are unfamiliar with the Studio 54 reference, think 1970s disco meets cutting edge fashion and a slue of infamous VIP guests. We aren't entirely sure how Xavier will pull this off as yet, but we can only imagine that what they have in store is going to be spectacular. That being said, we do hope that Xavier will be keeping some of the features we've come to know and love. Being the absolute foodies that we are, we have our fingers crossed that the menu won't be revamped too extensively. We couldn't get enough of their African fusion cuisine and signature cocktails. There is nothing quite like sipping a cocktail while enjoying live music or good conversation. This along with their collaborative atmosphere and quirky aesthetic is what made us fall in love with Xavier Restaurant. As we wait to see what the future holds, we'll say cheers to the good times and we look forward to meeting you at Xavier when they reopen their doors.
