This blooming destination is open every weekend – weather permitting – for the flower cut season from September 2025 – March 2026. This farm is all about creating botanical experiences. Their flower tent is full of seasonal blooms, waiting to be picked and crafted into beautiful floral bouquets.
Petals with Purpose: Spring Festival

This isn’t just a festival; it’s a celebration with heart.


Garden of St Christopher Petals & Paws
Date: Sunday, 07 September 2025 from 10AM to 3PM
Join Garden of St Christopher and SA Guide Dogs for their annual Petals & Paws event. Not only will you be contributing to a wonderful cause, but you’ll also enjoy the stunning gardens!
Tickets cost R200 per person and children under 5 years free. You ticket includes a complimentary glass of Miss Molly Bubbly (or fruit juice and bottle of water on entry); access to coffee, ice cream and other refreshments that will be on sale; special Guide Dog Puppy Training demonstrations; as well as live music from a saxophonist in the garden.
Flower Picking at Akanaka Blooms
Akanaka Blooms is a rustic micro-farm at Fruit Farms in De Deur, where you’ll find plenty of stunning seasonal flowers such as dahlias, sunflowers, ranunculus, and anemones. And best of all, you can join them on select Saturday mornings during spring and summer to stroll between the flowers and pick your own flora and herbs. You’ll be given a bucket and a pair of flower clippers to use as you explore their blooming beauties. Keep an eye on their socials for flower picking dates.

The Johannesburg Garden Club Open Garden
Date: 18 to 19 October 2025 from 10AM to 4PM
Spend an afternoon garden viewing, indulging at the Champagne & Salmon Bar, exploring the Tea Garden, shopping for plants and accessories, and more at the Johannesburg Garden Club Open Garden. We are eagerly anticipating the Seasonal Opening of Adene’s Farm Flowers at The Big Red Barn in Pretoria. They’re currently closed awaiting on their flowers to bloom, but once they do, you can visit the flower farm and pick flowers!
