We recently joined SINN Restaurant in Sandton for the unveiling of their new menu, where glasses never ran empty and the contemporary gothic backdrop set the perfect tone for an evening of decadent Italian fusion cuisine.
Meet The Chef
Chef Enrico Persegani brings his Italian roots and global experience straight to the plate. His career has thus far seen him lead kitchens in Cremona, London, and now Joburg, where SINN showcases his flair for elevating the traditional.
Step Inside
We were greeted with a welcome drink of ruby-red bubbles and followed the red carpet to the dining area. SINN's decor is striking — sultry gothic aesthetics meet futuristic accents to create a blend we’d never seen before.
A Memorable Start
Starters of salmon pâté on charred dill bruschetta and pear-pancetta carpaccio — sweet, nutty, and perfectly refreshing — were as stunning as they were delicious. The bread stole the show, though: hot, pillowy, and impossibly moreish, served with whipped, herb-infused butter.
The Main Event
Mains included the Manzo al Cognac, slow-roasted short rib with creamy parmesan mash and baby carrots, and a pizza we haven’t stopped raving about. It wasn’t just the toppings that impressed — the dough alone, crisp on the outside with a cloudlike interior, was like biting into a freshly baked loaf straight from the oven.
Sweet Finishes & Kitchen Magic
The open kitchen offers a front-row seat to the chefs’ skill and creativity. We rounded off our meal with a bright, tangy lime sorbet while watching empty plates turn into edible masterpieces in real time.
