Isuzu Motors South Africa Is Helping In The Fight Against COVID-19

Joburg Admin / April 8, 2020

The COVID-19 testing facilities are at work and are doing their best to make sure that everyone gets the medical help they need. What could make things easier is transportation and Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSA) came to the rescue and has made its media fleet available to Gift of the Givers. Isuzu wanted to play an active role in creating convenience by supporting the organisation's plan to augment public health services. COVID-19 testing facilities in Johannesburg have been set up by Gift of the Givers with the hope of an extension to one of the big cities in South Africa - Durban. Poster of Izusu

Keeping It Moving For A Good Cause

The organisation aims to provide medical professionals with the necessary tools, including protective wear and essential medical equipment. Isuzu also wants to play its part by ensuring that there is reliable transport during this period. The IMSA Corporate Affairs, Business Strategy and Legal Executive, Denise van Huyssteen, said that the motoring media will not be able to evaluate vehicles during the nationwide lockdown period and went on to say "Instead of the bakkies parked during this time, they could be utilised to help curb the spread of COVID-19". The bakkies will be available for use by the medical personnel from Gift of the Givers during the lockdown period. Gift of the Givers expressed the need for reliable transport during times like this and went on to say, "We are grateful for the transport support. Isuzu has always been a trusted and proactive partner of Gift of the Givers. Through their support, we are able to reach many more vulnerable communities across South Africa". In This Together

The organisation is currently using three Isuzu bakkies and three Isuzu trucks in various disaster relief programmes across the country. These bakkies have been very useful and have made the process of transporting equipment and protective wear much easier. Taking a small step into making a difference goes a long way and we, as a country, can achieve a lot more if we find the gaps and fill them with a helping hand. The partnership between Gift of the Givers and Isuzu Motors South Africa is one that is inspiring, and is showing the nation that if we work together, there is a lot that we can achieve.
