Above and beyond the countless dining choices at Nelson Mandela Square, the Signature Lux Hotel has its own fully licenced restaurant and cafe called Aura. The menu is predominately Portuguese - with entries such as peri peri chicken livers, prego rolls, and beef trinchado making an appearance - but offers pizzas, pastas, and burgers as well. Aura offers complimentary breakfasts to guests staying at the hotel. Patrons can expect a continental breakfast without the buffet. Guests can choose from a full English breakfast, healthy entries, an omelette with cheese, or salmon and capers. Breakfast is served with coffee or tea and a complimentary juice. The staff are friendly and the setting intimate, making for a great overall experience.

The Room
In the Signature Lux Hotel Sandton creature comfort and necessity comes standard across the board. Each room contains glass shelve counters with a work station, USB charging ports alongside the standard three-prong plug points, and SMART TVs that can be connected to your smartphone. I stayed in a queen sized apartment fitted with white trimmings and neon blue lights that add a futuristic tint to the stay. The double bed is made up with enough pillows and blanket to survive the coldest of Joburg nights. Though the absence of refreshments (tea, coffee, a kettle, and mini fridge) is somewhat of an inconvenience, the restaurant downstairs does make up for it.
The bathroom is kitted out with bath and hand towels, soap, body lotion, and shower gel. The shower is warm and the pressure perfect - though it takes a minute to warm up. Convenience is the name of the game as the hotel caters to people on the move - so don't expect to take a long bath as there isn't one. This keeps to the intimate and compact theme of the rest of the hotel.
