eateries at 44 Stanley. They offer an abundance of Italian style fare with a traditional South African twist. As good as the food is, what keeps visitors coming back is the ambiance. They are tucked away behind the shady trees in a rustic setting with harmonious music in the background. The food and mood at this restaurant could make anyone think they have stepped into a café in Italy rather than a tiny suburb in Joburg.
Chocoloza
Chocoloza is a chocolatier that is another gem of Milpark's prominent 44 Stanley. These chocolate specialists hand make their chocolates out of pure Belgian chocolate. They offer patrons the chance to choose their own chocolates and watch them being made. If that's not enough, their ingredients are also locally sourced to give you a delicious morsel that is free from artificial ingredients, palm oil and preservatives.

The best place to get your caffeine fix in Milpark is
Bean There. This coffee bean retailer is South Africa's first certified fair trader. This means that the farmers of the beans are offered fair payment for their products which, in turn, empowers the community. All their coffee remains unblended to ensure that each type of bean can be roasted for their own unique flavour.

Mixed-use developments are something of a hot topic when it comes to Johannesburg these days and the most established such precinct on the edge of downtown Joburg is
44 Stanley. Fusing downtown urbanism with a subtle sophistication, it offers a combination of carefully curated, bespoke stores and independent restaurants. It is a hipster hangout of note with a variety of eateries, clothing stores, jewellers and book stores. On Sundays, 44 Stanley comes alive with a vinyl market, live music and local folk, as well as visitors from further afield.

Melville and Westcliff nearby, Milpark is not quite kitted out for accommodation. But that's not stopping the
