Don’t Miss International Burger Day!

In spirit of International Burger Day on 28 May, we went in search of burger joints across the city that are delivering mouthwatering burgers during the lockdown! Indulge a little and celebrate this special day with a delicious bunned delight!

For massive and filling burgers that’ll have you coming back for more, RocoMamas® is one of the city’s favourite burger go-to spots. Indulge in your pick from their selection of Smash Burgers or get creative and opt for a M.Y.O. (Make Your Own) Burger, where you can choose all the toppings and trimming you want on your burger creation. And to top it all off, why not order a side of shoestring fries or onion rings and a delicious G-Shake? Sounds like quite a feast!

Hudsons – The Burger Joint

Miss your favourite Hudson burgers? Call your local Hudsons and order from them now! And if you order directly from select branches, you’ll get 10% off your bill and have your meal delivered for just R15 if you live within a 5km radius from the selected branch you place your order with. You can either choose from ordering a Build Your Burger Kit complete with two patties of your choice, two burger buns, sliced cheese and pickles, carmelised onions, mustard mayo and BBQ sauce OR one of their scrumptious ready-to-enjoy burgers. Delivery: Available for delivery Monday to Sunday between 11:30 and 19:30, only R15 delivery and they deliver within a 5km radius of select branches.

Turn ‘n Tender

For the time being, due to the lockdown and pandemic, Turn ‘n Tender have condensed and limited their delivery menu until further notice. If you’re craving one of their burgers, you’ll be glad to hear that they’re delivering four versions on their juicy burgers – the Classic, Cheese, Mushroom and Pepper. Delivery: You call and order from the restaurant directly and arrange priority delivery or pickup, order via UberEats or MrD app.

Dukes Burgers

If you live in or near Greenside and Melville, you know about Dukes Burgers! And if you’re just driving through or visiting the area and craving something on-the-go, then you’ll at least know where to go to get some good burgers! Now that we can order our favourite takeaways during lockdown, Dukes Burgers in Melville offers free delivery on orders that are to be delivered within a 6km radius from the restaurant.

Delivery: Free delivery from Dukes Burgers Melville if you’re within a 6km radius from the restaurant from Tuesday to Sunday between 11:30 and 18:30, or you can order via UberEats or MrD.

The Fussy Vegan 

For those who are vegan or vegetarian, we didn’t forget about you! The Fussy Vegan is now open and offering home delivery! All you have to do is visit their site and order online. Their burgers are absolute musts, whether you’re a vegan or not! Click here to visit their brand-new website and see what’s on the menu. Just keep in mind that there are different delivery areas that each branch will cater to:

There’s also a variety of fast food joints across the city to choose from when we’re on the hunt for a good burger! We like to refer to these spots as the usual suspects, AKA the obvious places to grab a burger.

Burger King

Burger King is officially open for delivery! Be sure to take a look at their Instagram post below to see which branches are open and operating during lockdown level 4.


Steers have fired up their grills once again to ensure you can get your fix of flame-grilled goodness! Let’s not forget to mention those oh-so delicious chips. For a list of Steers branches that have reopened for delivery, visit their website.


Famous for their burgers, Wimpy is another obvious choice when you’re in the mood for a burger. And you can now order your favourite for delivery from UberEats and MrD and have your Wimpy Moments at home! Click here to see which branches are open for delivery across the city.
