Best Chocolate Cake In Johannesburg

Joburg Admin / July 3, 2024

Luscious, rich, decadent chocolate cake. What's not to love about this deliciously sweet indulgence? So we went in search of the best chocolate cakes in the city, that Bruce Bogtrotter and Willy Wonka would be proud of.

Belle's Patisserie

Belle's Patisserie specialises in an assortment of gorgeous, luxury cakes and cupcakes. Their colourful rainbow cake is a favourite among patrons. But their Ferrero Rocher Cake is what keeps chocoholics coming back for more. Think soft chocolate sponges, sweet icing and a scattering of hazelnuts. If you prefer a higher icing to cake ratio, try one of their tempting chocolate cupcakes. Visit their website or their Facebook page to take a look at their selection of sweet indulgences.

The Pink Piano

In Northmead, Benoni, you'll find this gem! The Pink Piano is a stylish pop-up coffee cafe, offering visitors a lovely quiet little spot to meet up and catch up with friends, have a lovely cup of coffee, and also a decadent slice of cake! Their cakes are amazing! When it comes to chocolate cakes, the Messy Chocolate and the Chocolate Caramel cake are absolute musts. They make our mouths water nonstop!

Nice on 4th

This Parkhurst establishment is famous for their breakfast baskets. But what they should be famous for, in our opinion, is their delectable cakes. Their Flourless Belgium Chocolate Cake has been described as the ultimate chocolate cake by regulars. We recommend pairing this with their excellent cappuccino, for a bitter sweet finish. Be sure to visit their Facebook page to see what else their menu has to offer.

Walnut Grove

One can hardly walk past Walnut Grove without ogling and drooling at their magnificent cake displays. The Rainbow Cake instantly catches the eye with the vibrant assortment of colours. But we implore you to look past this show piece in favour of the chocolate offerings. You won't regret it, we promise. Their Raffaelo Coconut & White Chocolate Cake with a moist sponge, yummy icing, coconut and Raffaelo balls, is a definite winner.

This French patisserie has opened up shop in many countries around the world, including Europe, USA and Asia. Now, they call the Melrose Arch precinct home. They are renown for their French pastries, especially the macarons, eclairs and tartlets. But they also serve up a luscious and sinful chocolate cake. The Moelleux au chocolat will delight any chocolate lover's palate.
