Celebrate That Special Occasion At Parc Fermé

Joburg Admin / September 8, 2016

The event was (drum roll please)... my wife, Barbara's birthday. Let me just point out something about my wonderful wife, she plans in advance and without fail, outdoes herself with all of my celebrations. While I, on the other hand, have had a tendency to be a typical male in the past and completely miss the mark. This year, however, I had promised myself that I was going to get it spot on and give her a birthday celebration that she would brag to her colleagues about in the morning. (Yes, this was one of my goals!) The date was fast approaching and I had to find the perfect venue. The location needed to scream sophistication and romance and offer the caliber of gourmet dining. After scouring the city and sifting through the multiple options listed on Joburg.co.za, I came across the perfect place, which I was convinced would impress the guest of honour. Legacy Hotels have always associated themselves with restaurants that ooze culinary excellence and with that in mind, I made a reservation at Parc Fermé at the Michelangelo Towers in an attempt to impress Barbara on her special evening. I began this gourmet feast with the grilled peri-peri chicken livers brushed with garlic marinade, whilst the birthday girl had pan fried seared scallops gratinated in a lemon and cheese sauce and served with a micro herb salad. Parc Ferme Birthday's come once a year and with that in mind, we had no intentions of holding back. For mains, Barbs had the Parc Fermé platter which is a combination of succulent prawns and langoustines. Being a red meat lover myself, I indulged in the roasted rack of lamb with sautéed green beans, sesame seeds, roasted cocktail tomatoes and buttered mash with a mint sauce. Parc Ferme The highlight of the evening (beyond having achieved my initial objectives) was the final course: dessert. We shared the chocolate fondant which oozed decadent molten chocolate when broken in half… need I say more? So, the next time you’re looking to impress a loved one, do yourself a favour and make a reservation at Parc Fermé. Happy dining Joburg and happy birthday Barbs!
