Joburg's hottest stage is on fire - Theatre of Marcellus drops a show lineup you can't ignore! From soul-stirring local legends to high-energy acts, Emperors Palace's iconic Theatre of Marcellus is serving up something extraordinary this season.
April kicks off in style with an Easter Sunday special featuring the classical sensation, Selim Kagee, bringing his acclaimed production Il Mondo back to Joburg - an afternoon of pure vocal brilliance not to be missed. Mid-April, our sights are set on the beautiful KB Motsilanyane for an intimate live concert experience on 10 April, followed by side-splitting laughs in Laugh Galore on 11 April, featuring Krijay Govender, Muthu Murgan, Nabeel Peer, and Sagie Murugan.
We welcome back fan-favourites Dr Victor & the Rasta Rebels with their infectious afro-fusion energy on the 17th April, with a special guest appearance by Nicholas Goliath, and the legendary Selaelo Selota closes out the month on 25 April with his moving new show, Footprints of a Lifetime.
May is equally stacked. The Soil opens on 2nd May with an acoustic night of soul and storytelling, with special guest appearances by Ndumiso Lindi and Khanyisa Bunu. Afrikaans favourite Jan Blohm performs on 8 May, and international Bollywood-pop crossover star Zack Night makes his Joburg return on 10th May. Rounding out May is the incomparable Bongeziwe Mabandla on 16 May.
Looking further ahead, June bring theatre and music with Tottie en Nie Verder Nie on 12th June, the soulful Roan Ash on 19 June and the unique Klassiek Ontmoet Pop on 26 June.
July sees the iconic Judith Sephuma gracing the stage and August kicks off with the high-energy, family show Ek Sau Terah on 1 August.
