Keyes Art Mile

The opening of the R50 million TRUMPET on Keyes will mark the start of the open-art fusion known as the Keyes Art Mile. What used to be a lonely little avenue in Rosebank has now evolved into a stretch of modern South African art and architecture. The Keyes Art Mile will introduce three galleries from Cape Town - SMAC, What If The World and Southern Guild - to the City of Johannesburg and will explore the latest creations within the sphere of modern art. The corner of Keyes and Jellicoe Avenue is home to the Circa Art Gallery which was designed by StudioMAS. The structure was carefully constructed to create an urban environment that is confident about the importance of public space within Rosebank. Circa's past exhibits include Angus Taylor's New Work and Blessing Ngobeni's The Song Of The Chicotte. The gallery will form an important hub within the Art Mile. Keyes Avenue will add to the development of art within Johannesburg and will increase the public's interest thereof. More to follow. Have you been to Keyes Avenue lately?
