Victoria Yards
Called the "new
Maboneng," Victoria Yards in Lorentzville/Bez Valley launched in 2018. This 30 000m² of industrial space is home to many established and up-and-coming artists. One of the most prominent tenants is photographer Roger Ballen. There will also be an art gallery, as well as a craft brewery.
What Makes This Place Different?
Victoria Yards is an inner-city landscape completely different to anything Joburg currently offers. An eco-system where tenants thrive as a community, Victoria Yards presents a uniquely integrated urban complex. It is as much about social development as it is about commercial enterprise. This development is spearheaded by Brian Green, part-owner of Group 44 (the developers behind
44 Stanley in Milpark and 107 Bree Street in Cape Town). To Brian, this is a "dream project." The idea is to involve the local community in the project by way of vegetable gardens, skills upliftment programmes and job creation.
Where Is It?
Victoria Yards is across the road from the Nando's global office, a couple of blocks away from
Ellis Park Stadium and a stone's throw from Joburg's very own China Town, in
Cyrildene.
Physical Address: 24 Victoria Road, Lorentzville, Johannesburg.
