Artisanal ice cream seems to be everywhere these days. But not all artisanal ice creams are equal. Createry Co. crafts the very best preservative free, locally inspired ice creams around./We treated ourselves to a few of their tasting jars recently to see what all the hype has been about. We were delighted by the unique flavours and superbly creamy texture of their ice cream. But that's not all Createry Co. offers. Their services include food styling and photography, recipe development and menu creation. Founder and ice cream master Adrielle du Plessis also sells her stunning artwork online.
There is nothing commercial or mass produced about any of Adrielle's outputs. Hers is authentic ice cream making at its finest, which is why we will be returning to Createry Co. as soon as we can. We love showing our support for small Joburg businesses and we can't think of a better way than by indulging in some of the best ice cream in town.

Ice Cream Collection
Adrielle is a small batch producer, working with the freshest ingredients and sustainable packaging. Her ice cream collection is small, but significant. Each flavour is available in 150ml and 500ml reusable jars. The Berry Sorbet is also dairy-free and vegan-friendly, so no one is left out of experiencing the Createry Co. magic. We sampled two of Adrielle's best sellers - the French Vanilla and the Salted Caramel. We also had our eye on the Rooibos and Condensed Milk flavour, but we didn't want to seem too gluttonous! After tasting the vanilla and salted caramel flavours, however, we regret not taking a few extra samples for some late night snacking. These ice creams taste nothing like store bought, mass produced knock-offs. They are divinely rich and custardy, but without any trace of the farm fresh eggs Adrielle uses to craft the base of her ice creams. She also uses three kinds of vanilla to flavour her good old fashioned French Vanilla pot. We firmly believe that a great vanilla ice cream is the mark of an outstanding ice cream brand. Createry Co.'s delivers in spades and might just be our favourite of the collection (for now anyway).
