Croydon Bakery
Perhaps the most renowned bakery of the east, Croydon Bakery bakes delectable bread, cakes, tarts and other confectionery on a daily basis. However, it is their pies that they are most famous for. These include steak, pepper steak, Cornish, sausage rolls, curry, chicken and mushroom, cottage and spinach feta cheese. All of their pies are homemade with flaky pastry and flavourful fillings.

George's Bread & Co
This overnight Boksburg sensation stems from the same family tree as Croydon. George bakes the most amazing confections from scratch with the best ingredients available. Their crafts are some of the best we have ever had, from their freshly baked bread, light and fluffy cupcakes, perfect chocolate chip cookies, filling pies and the ultimate cheesecake. There is nothing at
this bakery that we do not love.

De Backery
This Dutch bakery was started in 1963 by William Verhoogt. They still use the same recipes and methods today as they did in 1963, with imported Dutch ingredients. All of their products are made in house with high quality, fresh ingredients. Products on offer include pies, bread, loaves, sweet confectionery, tarts and cakes. Above the bakery is the windmill restaurant, De Molen Pancake House and Restaurant, a replica of the Zeldenrust Molen in Holland.

Also located in Edenvale, the Bread Basket started in 1982 offering fresh baked goods and a quality deli. The bakery now offers quality confectionery which includes cakes, cake pops, tarts, scones, muffins, macaroons, cookies, pies, bread, doughnuts and pastries. Patrons come from far and wide for their delightful cakes, either full cakes, slices, cupcakes or filled cupcakes. Sugar's Bakery
Another gem tucked away in Edenvale, this bakery and family restaurant serves up homemade meals, artisan breads, delicacies and Greek specialties. Greek confectionery offered include Eliopitas, Tiropita, Kourabiedes, Melomakarona, Bougatsa and Baklava, among others. The bakery also offers more traditional baked goods and an on-site restaurant offering breakfast, toasted sandwiches, omlettes, salads, prego, pizza and souvla.

Fournos in Boksburg offers scrumptious baked goods and confectionery. Here, you can get crusty breads, sweet cakes, a wide selection of pies, crumbly pastries and the best croissants outside of France. These flaky morsels are available in four flavours - plain, chocolate, almond and blueberry. Each one of these are mouth watering and delicious. Another favourite at this bakery are their cakes. The Bar One cake, in particular, is irresistible.
