This market is close to home, located in the serene Greenside area. The market occurs on the last Sunday of every month. The day starts with yoga in the morning, followed by live music performances. What we love about this market is the large array of vegan cheese, biltong and faux meat. They also have some hippy clothing, jewellery and trinkets. Among the many dogs, you may even get to catch a glimpse of a pig or two, if you're lucky.

Vegan Hippie Connection Market Magliesburg
After many requests, the Vegan Hippie Connection Market has now expanded. Their second market is hosted at White Dog Taproom in the scenic Magaliesburg. Here, patrons can expect to find the same vegan stalls that they have come to know and love from the market in Greenside. Offerings include delicious vegan food and treats, vegan bath goodies and a plethora of hippy-style clothing and curios. With over 70 stalls offering up the best of the best in vegan delights, this event is not one to be missed.

Zen Market
The Zen Market used be at the picturesque Moors Castle in Muldersdrift. But now they are at the Ennis Garden Centre in Roodepoort. While not completely vegan, they do have a fair variety of vegan products and goods. They have delicious burgers, olives, vegan biltong, wraps and baked goods. This market has more of an esoteric feel and is the perfect place to pick up some crystals and to experience a tarot reading.

Vegan Food Fair
Although this market is all the way up north in Pretoria, it is still one of the biggest vegan markets for Joburg residents. This event occurs on the second Sunday of every month, weather permitting. The day starts with some yoga in the fresh morning air and is followed by live entertainment. Kids are not forgotten about either, as the event provides entertainment for them which includes jumping castles. Arguably the best thing about this event is that dogs are always welcome. You can expect to find some delicious vegan food and snacks, clothing and jewellery.

Fry's Annual Green Meeting
This is an annual event hosted by Fry's Family Food, who produce some of South Africa's favourite frozen vegan food. This event has a bunch of guest speakers as well as yummy vegan tasting options. And they host a market where you can get a whole lot of vegan goodies. These events take place in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg and the location changes from year to year.
