#Theatre Will Rise Again - Monologues and Artist Seminars With The Market Theatre

What Is It?

The Market Theatre has been an institute for ground breaking South African theatre since 1976. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent national lockdown, they have had to temporarily close their doors. But, knowing just how much their audiences will be missing their dose of intriguing and thought-provoking theatre work, the Market Theatre have introduced the Theatre Will Rise Again lockdown monologue series. Top South African performers have been asked to submit 2-minute long monologue performances from your favourite plays. So far, the series has seen theatre stalwart Mncedisi Shabangu perform a skit from the classic Sizwe Banzi is Dead, among others. You will be able to watch full clips of these performances on the theatre's Facebook page every day.
