It's always tea time at this foodie haven situated in Parktown North. Follow the bamboo arches to one of Joburg's hidden gems; Gabriella's Tea Room. If you've never visited this whimsical bakery and restaurant, then be sure to do so this autumn. Here's some of what awaits guests, new and familiar.
Tranquil Dining
Gabriella's Tea Room is unique - there isn't another restaurant quite as 'zen' as this in all of Joburg. Not that we know of, anyway. You'll be welcomed by an overgrowth of bamboo as you make your way into the restaurant. This theme continues on into the interior décor, combined with a sense of serenity and calm.
The overall style of the restaurant is industrial meets nature - with a wealth of crawling plants creeping their way up the eateries' brick façade. It's a spectacular venue for birthday parties and other special events. There is ample outdoor seating, too. Soak up some autumn sunshine by reserving a table out here.
Fresh Flavours
They are open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 08:30 - 16:00. Pop by as soon as you can to dive into a hearty, healthy breakfast or Gabriella's signature homemade chicken and mushroom pie. In terms of Vegan meals, according to their online reviews, their Homemade Lentil and Sweet Potato Pie is highly recommended.
You can also order your favourite breakfasts, starters, main and desserts via Uber Eats. We recommend trying the sweet cannoli French toast - crisp cannoli filled with a sweet vanilla ricotta and pecan nuts, garnished with a tart berry coulis. It's the ultimate early morning treat.
Venue Hire
Whether you're looking to host a breakfast, lunch or high tea celebration, the Parkwood establishment is able to meet your requirements to suit all budget types. From Vegan High Tea's to an Italian Feast and even custom made platters they have quite the selection.
