The name “Parreirinha” is derived from the Portuguese term for “little grapevine” a nod to the restaurant’s humble beginnings and its connection to the rich cultural heritage of Portugal. Originally established in July 1975 by two brothers-in-law, Parreirinha quickly became a beloved fixture in the La Rochelle community. It was also affectionately known as the “Sixth Street Police Station.”
