To get your driver’s license, you can head to the Kliptown Licensing Department also located in Pimville to apply for or renew your license. You’ll also find three SAPS stations in Soweto, namely SAPS Moroka, Orlando Police Station, and SAPS Kliptown. The inner city falls under the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. Here, you’ll find all your municipal service within Braamfontein. Situated in the Civic Centre on top of the crown of Braamfontein, you will find the City Council. For all your amenities and levies, Thuso House offers a walk-in centre in at the top of Jorissen Street that’s ready and waiting to assist. And at the bottom of Juta Street, you’ll find Pikitup, the official integrated waste management service provider to Joburg. Municipal Services in Johannesburg East & Ekurhuleni
The East Rand and Ekurhuleni have their own jurisdiction and do not form part of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. This part of the city falls under the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality which can be found in Kempton Park. This office services the great East Rand with a range of government services.
