Sandton Welcomes Luca's Ristorante!
Offering dinners only the best in Italiano, Luca's Ristorante now calls Sandton home. You will be able to find their brand-new premises at 24 Central, corner of Fredman Drive and Gwen Lane, just behind the JSE, complete with ample on-site parking.
In finding the right premises to call home, their remarkable journey in finding a new space has not been easy. "We investigated over 50 potential restaurant venues. A large part of that decision has been driven by our desire to try be accessible for our wonderfully loyal patrons and friends. We know that we cannot please everyone, and for some we may be slightly further, for others we may be slightly closer... but for all we promise the same warm and hospitable Luca's experience that you have come to love over the last 27 years," says Luca Borella, Owner and Founder of Luca's Ristorante.
Luca's Ristorante has a soft opening over the weekend of 06 November 2021, but will keep us all posted on when they will be hosting their official grand opening! In the meantime, while they're building their brand-new pizza oven, they will be offering guests a limited menu with delectable dishes you most definitely need to try.

For moreish and delicious Italian cuisine, be sure to take a look at Luca's Ristorante's limited menu while they tie off all the loose ends of their move to their new home and finish off all of their building, deep cleansing and improvements on the premises.
So, let's start from the very beginning: starters and salads. A few options that caught our eye as we were sussing out the limited menu includes the Chicken Tortellini in Herb Broth (rings of pasta stuffed with chicken poached in a chicken and herb broth); the Chicken Livers (sautéd with chilli and onion in beer); the Black Mushroom Caprese (large mushrooms, baked in the pizza oven with tomato, fior di latte mozzarella, sweet basil pesto and garlic); and the Fresh Mussel & Clam Soup "Alla Felicetta" (steamed in white wine, a little garlic, parsley, tomato, a dash of cream and Parmigiano, when clams are available).
Next up, we have the pastas, risotto, meat and fishes dishes for the main event. Again, this is a limited menu, so their full offering of Italian dishes and pizzas are not available just yet. The dishes we most certainly want to tuck into includes the Baby Calamari (grilled with olive oil, lemon, a touch of freshly-ground black pepper and parsley. Tubes or tentacles or mixed); the Rabbit Cacciatora or Madagascar (jointed, cassarolled in tomato, red wine, mushrooms and peas or green peppercorns, Dijon mustard, cream and brandy, or try half of each); the Lamb Al Caffe (their signature dish was invented and fashioned by Mamma Alma, de-boned leg of lamb, pot-roasted in espresso and apricots with carrots, onions and a little double cream); and the Zucchini Triangoli Tartufati (spinach pasta triangles filled with baby marrow and ricotta, lavished in fresh farm-cream, truffles and wild mushrooms).
Everything just sounds so delicious! And as for complementing your meal with some liquor, be sure to take your own along with you while they sort out their liquor license.
