CANSA: The Cancer Association of South Africa
If you’re concerned about yourself or a loved being prone to cancer we recommend that you get checked either way – and soon. Early detection is key to enabling effective treatment.
Therefore, it is important to know what screening options are available to you, especially if you have a family history of cancer. CANSA offers a Breast Cancer Clinical Breast Examination, which is a physical and visual examination of the breast by a trained, professional nurse, to detect abnormalities. CANSA do not perform mammograms. But should a clinical examination indicate a more thorough examination is necessary, they can assist with a referral letter to a service provider of your choice.
