Jo Malone, the celebrated British fragrance and lifestyle collection for bath, body and home, opened October 2010 at Stuttafords Sandton City. The luxurious setting incorporates elements from the first shop in London, such as library-style shelves, linear glass bottles and iconic gift boxes throughout. Rochelle and Philippa attended the opening of the new store- here’s what they had to say:

Jo Malone is one lovely idea of a fragrance range, with an eclectic mix of unusual but complimentary combinations. My favourite was the Nectarine Blossom and Honey which opens with a vigorous, bright, almost neurotically juicy and tart nectarine with a tad of petit grain. I find this gives a very gentle, healthy and warm aura. I suppose it could be a little girlish, but not everything has to be deep, wild or complicated.
My hand massage experience was to die for – I opted for the Pomegranate Noir which is an intoxicating fragrance, mixing fresh fruit with warm sensual spice. A modern classic with a new twist on traditional notes, it has an addictive quality and once worn you’ll always want more. This would be my one luxury choice on a desert island! I predict that this perfume will last the test of time and achieve cult status.
Philippa says:
I am a huge fan of fresh, clean fragrances, which gives Jo Malone an immediate five star rating in my books. And yet it is so much more. The clean lines and classic styling of the packaging; the beautifully designed shelves and display areas; and of course the heavenly scents that surround you. I was encouraged to try the massage which was a welcome relief after a long day at the office. After cleaning my hands and forearms, I was treated to a massage with the Blue Agava & Cacao Body Crème and was then sprayed with Nutmeg and Ginger from the Spicy cologne range. The combination of fragrances was perfect, with subtle tones, instead of an overwhelming scent that hits you in a wave rather than enveloping you slowly. My husband was very complimentary, and with Christmas around the corner, you can tell your husband/partner/boyfriend, from me, that this would be the perfect gift to truly show how much they care.
