Vegeata is a popular vegan food stall found at vegan markets across Joburg. They make giant gourmet doughnuts that bring people back for more. Favourite flavours include Saffron Vanilla Crème Brulée, Chocolate Ganache S’mores, Peanut Butter Caramel and the Ice Cream Sundae. But be warned, these huge doughnuts can be quite tricky to wrap your mouth around.

Located in Illovo, Crumbs & Cream is just the place if you’re looking to indulge in sweet ice cream sandwiches. And even better, all of their locations throughout the country offers at least one sorbet at any given time.

They also have a Vegan Heaven cookie that’s available at the Illovo branch, ensuring that their menu is inclusive of a vegan diet. You can find other vegan options on their menu. This branch is also Halaal.

Lexi’s Healthy Eatery

Lexi’s Healthy Eatery is a mostly vegan, whole-food restaurant that can be found in Rosebank and Modderfontein in Johannesburg, and Hazelwood in Pretoria. They strive for the most sustainable, conscious, moral and nutritious cuisine.

When it comes to scrumptious desserts, you can expect to find waffles, Warm Salted Choc Brownies, Banana Bread, and Summer Fruit Pavlova on the menu. They also have a selection of cakes and sweet dessert made daily, just ask the waiter what’s available when you visit.
