DOTA 2 is one of 2020's best free online games. This game is a top-down arena battle simulation, but is still exceptionally dynamic. This is one of the games pro-gamers use to compete during serious tournaments - where a player can win millions of dollars in prize money. Don't worry, when you're a new player to the game, a tutorial will show you all the controls to survive. This doesn't mean your learning curve will be easy, as the mechanics can get complicated. Team up with a few friends and become a part of the DOTA universe.
Fortnite Battle Royale
Fortnite Battle Royale was originally designed as an add-on, but it became one of the best free games faster than anyone could anticipate. The scenario is simple, you get dropped in a map together with 99 other players in a "free-for-all melee". Last one standing wins the game. Due to its booming success, Epic Games is hard at it to integrate new features and gaming modes. The Playground mode, as an example, drops you onto the map, allowing you a certain amount of time to build structures before the battle begins. Another cool feature is that it is multiplayer across multiple consoles simultaneously - meaning you can play with your friends, even if you're using a PC and they're playing on a PS4.
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft
Fans of Magic: The Gathering, unite! With no terrifying learning curve to get into the game, this fantasy game is truly enticing its audience. The game is one which is played quite quickly - making it more casual in nature with only a basic set of rules. This is one for the World of Warcraft fans as well. Don't underestimate the level of difficulty, you never know how strong your opponent is at playing their cards right.
League of Legends
The excellent maps and a diverse range of characters have ensured that League of Legends stays a multiplayer giant within the gaming circuit. Don't be fooled, League of Legends has an aggressive gameplay, but with it comes great rewards. This is a game of teamwork and tactics, making it the perfect multiplayer game. As with DOTA 2, League of Legends is played by many high-end and professional gamers in tournaments.
Call of Duty: Warzone
Call of Duty: Warzone is one of the most anticipated games for 2020, a standalone from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and free to play. As with Fortnite Battle Royale, COD: Warzone is cross-play enabled, meaning different consoles can be used within the same game. To hype it up even more - the game can support up to a 150 players instead of 100. With the map being quite large, the numbers shouldn't affect gameplay as much. For Warzone, there are two modes, namely Plunder and Battle Royale. In Battle Royale, you play in squads of three to be the last squad standing. With Plunder, you have unlimited respawns.
