If you’ve ever visited Fireroom at Montecasino you’ll know what’s in store at their Bedfordview branch – flaming sushi, fine steaks and an atmosphere unrivaled. However, this iteration of the Fireroom brand offers a few surprises as well, for both old customers and new. Fireroom Bedfordview opened its doors in 2019, joining the legion of popular sushi restaurants in the area. But this is no ordinary seafood and grill. Here you will find a wonder world of sushi fusion, grills and and divine dim sum. Fireroom offers a unique spin on Asian classics, infusing South African flavours into all array of well known dishes. It is also one of the top theatrical restaurants in the city – astounding its guests with a spectacular show of fire and flamboyance. If you’re after the unexpected, look no further than Fireroom Bedfordview.
Fireroom bridges the gap between fine dining and family-friendly by offering a bit of something to everyone. The atmosphere is alive with vibrancy and excitement, as guests sit down to enjoy the fire displays. Fireroom Bedfordview offers both indoor and terrace dining, as well as two private guest rooms. These private nooks are ideal for birthday parties and celebrations such as year end work functions. You can also enjoy a personalised whisky and cigar experience at Fireroom Bedfordview. Their head chef will help you curate your own signature dish to perfectly pair with your selection of fine whisky. This is a place for the high rollers, curious foodies and families looking for a fun night out. All in all, Fireroom Bedfordview is a must-visit for anyone with a love of good food and fabulous dining.
What’s On The Menu?
Fireroom boasts an extensive menu, covering a broad range of cuisines and flavour combinations. However, you really should kick off your dining adventure with a plate or two of their signature flaming sushi. This is what Fireroom is all about – the presentation of something truly unique and bold. We highly recommend the Sushi Braai; an assortment of tasty rainbow rolls drizzled with port and sesame seed reduction. The balance of salty, sweet and sour will have your palate singing. If you’re weary of having your sushi set alight, try out their smoked sushi instead. A deep smoky flavour is imparted into your choice of poached pear and salmon tartare, langoustine nigiri or crocodile carpacio. Yum!
Fireroom’s menu also features a variety of traditional sushi dishes to appease the traditionalists. Choose from a fine selection of maki rolls, sashimi, fashion sandwiches and hand rolls. Alternatively, tuck into hearty stir fry or health conscious poke bowl. We haven’t had a chance to try it, but we’ve heard rave reviews about the Fireroom Poke bowl – chilli marinated diced tuna, naked edamame beans, sushi rice and peppadew confit. Sounds like heaven in a bowl.
Fireroom understands that not everyone is a sushi lover. The big meat eaters will be impressed by their chicken, seafood and steak offerings. Order their signature Tomahawk Steak for a truly mouth-watering experience. Pepper crusted and flambéed at your table, this is a meal fit for royalty. Paired with one of Fireroom’s fine wines or bubblies, we couldn’t picture a more perfect evening out.
Fireroom never skimps on flavour, which is why their dessert menu is well worth mentioning. Their Bar One Sliders are legend from Bedfordview to Fourways – deep-fried Bar One nuggets served with caramel sauce and strawberry sorbet. However, our ultimate Fireroom dessert is the Inside Out Cheesecake; a deconstructed gin-infused cheesecake on an Oreo biscuit base, topped with cherry glaze and popping candy. It’s simply spectacular and completely wacky. But what would you expect from one of the most unconventional restaurants in the city?
