Experience the wonder and vibrant feathery residents of the Montecasino Bird Gardens in Fourways. This bird and wildlife park is just the space if you're looking for a memorable family outing in Johannesburg, or simply just want to enjoy some fresh air. Spend the afternoon wandering along vibrant garden walkways and viewing the various colourful birds, reptiles, mammals and unusual animals. A must-visit is the walk-through aviary, that's home to over 60 species of birds including Scarlet Ibises and Nicobar pigeons, with smaller antelope wandering in the undergrowth.

Don't Miss The Flight of Fantasy Shows
Both entertaining and educational, the Flight of Fantasy Bird Shows at the Bird Gardens are one of the highlights you need to experience when you pay them a visit. The stars of the show are their colourful and talented show birds, showing off their feathers, skills and personalities. These bird shows are held in the Tuscan amphitheatre, twice daily from Monday and Friday, and three times a day over weekends and public holidays.
Please note: Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Flight of Fantasy shows are closed until further notice.

Relax at The Flamingo Café
After taking a lengthy stroll through the Bird Gardens, why not grab a bite to eat and something refreshing from the Flamingo Café that overlooks the Flamingo pond. The menu offers guests a selection of light meals, coffees and milkshakes, to be enjoyed against the tropical backdrop and ambiance of the gardens. Click here to take a look at their Grab & Go menu. The Flamingo Café is also an ideal venue for kids’ parties and can host up to 90 guests. Operating times are as follows: Monday to Sunday from 09:00 to 17:00.

- Pensioners (60+): R62 per person
