The 45th Oktoberfest at the Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria is rooted in the traditions of its Munich counterpart, making it the foremost and most enduring beer festival in South Africa. The event is hosted over two days on Friday, 15 October and Saturday, 16 October 2023.

What Can I Expect From The The Original Oktoberfest in Pretoria 2023?

Attendees are cordially invited to partake in the celebration of German “Gemütlichkeit” under the African skies, along with the school and the German community, joined by a vibrant crowd of over ten thousand guests.

Within the main tent, entertainment takes center stage, featuring the lively melodies of the Oompah band “Innkreis Buam,” journeying from Europe to grace South Africa with their music. Embracing the fusion of cultures, a lineup of local musicians including “4AM,” “Maeztro,” and “The Morning After Band” will also captivate the audience.

A plethora of beer choices awaits, catering to even the most discerning beer enthusiasts. Diverse alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are also at hand for those seeking variety.

The Oktoberfest showcases the rich tapestry of German gastronomy, presenting culinary treasures such as Eisbein, Kassler, Bockwurst, Brezel, and more.
