Join Joburg Theatre in partnership with City of Johannesburg entities – Joburg City Parks and Zoo, and City Power – for the much-awaited annual Joburg Festival of Lights. The much-anticipated event takes place on Friday, 1 December 2023 until Sunday, 7 January 2023.
Immerse yourself in a captivating display of life-sized illuminated animal characters, complemented by classical, harmonious entertainment. Don’t miss out on the enticing array of food and crafts at our night market, set against the charming backdrop of Joburg Zoo.
We’ve got your parking covered – enjoy free parking at the Upper Park Drive parkade. From Thursday to Sunday, the festival runs from 19:00 to 22:00. Take a leisurely stroll along a specially lit route through the zoo, beneath trees adorned with enchanting lights, away from the animal habitats.
The Joburg Zoo Festival of Lights promises entertainment for all ages, providing a unique night out in the heart of the zoo. Ticket prices are as follows: R75 for kids aged 3 to 12, R100 for pensioners, and R175 for kids aged 12 and above, as well as adults. Children under 3 enjoy free entrance.
Here are a few tips to enhance your experience:
The Do’s:
-Feel free to bring camp chairs for your comfort.
The Dont’s:
-Kindly refrain from bringing balloons or balls.
-We regret that pets are not allowed.
-For safety reasons, no alcohol is permitted.
-Cooler boxes are not permitted on the premises.
-Outside food is not allowed.
