If you’ve had the pleasure of experiencing Milk Bar in George Lea Park, then you’ll know about their cool, Afrocentric vibe and café culture, which later turns into a festive bar atmosphere.
We recently went to the branch on Keyes Avenue and were met with colourful decor, shweshwe-print chairs, African art and foliage everywhere. The atmosphere at this particular Milk Bar is busy, lively and inviting, whether you're popping in for a coffee catch-up, lunch or drinks after work with friends.
The Milk Bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as bar snacks, and the menu features African-inspired dishes like bunny chows and boerrie rolls (where else can you get these in a restaurant?), plus there's a variety of flatbreads, pies and pregos.
To quench your thirst, they have rich aromatic coffees (we highly recommend the cappuccino, it’s so good!), loose-leaf African teas and a few cold drink options like the iced lemonade and mint, very refreshing on a warm day.
So Joburgers, if you’re in the Rosebank area, pop into the Milk Bar – it’s definitely worth checking out! For more information, visit their Facebook page.
