Chameleon Village is a country destination spanning 10 hectares packed with exciting facilities for local and International Tourists at the busy busy 4 ways stop, 1½ km from the Hartbeespoort Dam wall towards Rustenburg. Much emphasis has been placed on fun for kids and fully serving the needs of International Tourists. African Curio and Artifacts Chameleon Village has the most distinctive and comprehensive African market in Africa featuring curios, antiques and artifacts from all corners of the African continent. Products are available for the serious collector and casual shopper. The highest standards are maintained. A visit to the Market is a most pleasant and vibrant experience so be sure to do the traditional bargaining with the many enthusiastic vendors. Fun and Novelty Shops In addition to the African market there is a large market offering a wide range of products including clothing, hand made jewellery, candles, rugs, casual shoes, toy land, outdoors, fishing tackle, doughnuts, biltong exotic beers etc etc etc. Craft Market The Craft market at Chameleon Village is the largest in the Country. Hand crafted products other than the African curios etc are obtained through South Africa and are displayed in an exciting shop of ±800 square meters. There is something for everyone. Formal Retail Court For more sedate shopping there is a row of formal shops. The most exquisite and exclusive copper art can be purchased. They also have a casual fashion boutique with original brand names, a highly professional tattoo shop, an internationally acclaimed jeweler, an art gallery with noted works on display, a general artifacts and décor shop, a PC Game and DVD etc shop and of course Sweets from Heaven. Restaurants There are 5 restaurants with other 3 in the pipeline. The Chinese has been acclaimed to serve the finest in South Africa. Experience the African Pot traditional cuisine or enjoy a light meal at Woodys Pub and Grill. The Restaurants are fully licensed and nestled in an indigenous forest. The Beef and Lobster is under thatch with hand carved Leadwood tree supports - worth a visit to see. Fun for Kids For the kids there is an animal farm where they can feed the bunnies, goats, chickens, ducks, parrots, ponies, cow and calf etc. There is a playground with a jumping castle, slides and Jungle Gym etc. Sony PartyStation venue has state of the art equipment and accessories from Sony Playstation 2 that will keep the kids entertained for hours. PartyStation caters for any kind of party/function and promise to entertain you for hours. Soon to open is a fairground with rides, dodgem cars etc. Lawns and Gardens The lawned amphitheater is a fun run around area bordering a stage where music is played, sometimes live, sometimes DJ. A comprehensive aloe garden on the perimeter is worth seeing. Nursery The nursery specializes in indigenous plants and the Garden Pot and Garden Centre offer an amazing array of unique garden features fountains and décor at excellent prices. Ostriches and Bushmen The ostrich show farm also has an authentic Bushmen village who come from the Kalahari Dessert. A cultural village is on the drawing board and will open shortly within the ostrich farm. This is an educational and most interesting experience in tranquil indigenous (of course) surrounding.
