Sliders are baby burgers that need our full attention - especially when we hang out at the Liberation Cafe on 7th Street. For R49 you can score mini ostrich burgers with marinated tomatoes, basil pesto and melted mozzarella cheese. Click here for more information.

Honorable Mention

Catz Pyjamas

Since 1994 The Catz Pyjamas (then part of Old Melville on Beyers Naude Drive) have been serving the party class of Joburg good food and good drink. Their burgers are some of the best in the neighbourhood. 200g of pure beef with rocket, bacon, cheddar cheese, onion, roasted aubergine, coriander/chilli chutney and hummus. Done... only thing is, they're in Ferndale now. But so what, we had to plug them here for old time's sake! Click here for more information. Burgers in Melville   By Shawn Greyling
