What Is It?
To celebrate its "imaginary" opening, the Zwipi Underground Bar is offering Joburgers five days of festivities before they shut down for renovations to make the bar a "real" venue. Five rooms of the old United Bank vault, dating back to 1906, will be set-up with their own food theme, and up to 50 guests will be able to enjoy a one-of-a-kind lunch or dinner with tables spread out between the rooms. Guests can also explore the historical setting and enjoy the food from each of the spaces.The out-of-this-world Zwipi Underground Bar is part of Phase 1 of the "Thunder Walker Project" by JoburgPlaces on Gandhi Square. Future phases will introduce the Scatterlings Restaurant and Events Venue, as well as the Balcony Gardens Hotel. We can't wait! Bookings are essential, as they will not be able to cater for walk-in customers during the launch weekend.
