For Goodness Sake Bistro and Deli has quite a unique back story. Their journey began in 2016; a quaint time before the global pandemic and seemingly never-ending lockdowns. The initial goal for this establishment was to create a space in the heart of Muldersdrift where locals could gather. For Goodness Sake soon became a community gem with its delicious selection of coffees, cakes, and wholesome meals.
Things took a turn in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, as the restaurant was unable to sell food during lockdown. They welcomed the challenge of developing a product that they could sell while waiting for the restrictions to end. Thus the "invisible glove" was created - a moisturising sanitizer that flew off the shelves during the height of the first wave. For Goodness Sake has since developed a range of lifestyle products which they sell at their deli adjoining the restaurant. We scoured their social media pages recently to see all that they've got in store. Needless to say, we plan on paying them a visit very soon.
For Goodness Sake's food philosophy is "good food takes time". Their meals are designed to showcase the very best ingredients cooked to perfection. This is the ideal restaurant spot to meet with old friends you haven't seen in awhile. It's all about the experience, so come prepared to chat over your coffee for a good while as your food is prepared.
The menu offers both traditional bistro style meals and a few trendy treats. We would opt to go the traditional route by ordering off of their exquisite lunch menu. Their hearty midday meals are inspired by some of the most popular food cultures, including Thai, Mexican and South African. We've got our eye on the pork red Thai curry served with rice and greens. Judging by the snaps on their Instagram page, we suspect that it would be utterly delicious.

Their cakes look absolutely sensational, especially the lemon chiffon cake topped with tangy lemon curd and sweet Italian meringue.
