Rock ‘n Roll meets South East Asian cuisine at this vibrant Vietnamese street market inspired bar and eatery. Eat your way through the most delicious food, sip on yum cocktails (which include standard or slushy options) and even belt out a tune in one of the private karaoke rooms – its energetic, retro and full of quirk. Both venues (in Rosebank and Cedar Square), while still maintaining their own individual flair, are beautifully adorned in Vietnamese décor with painted wall murals and cherry blossoms.
The authentic menu includes dishes like bao buns, dim sum, pho, BBQ street skewers ramen and chicken wings. Drinks include funky cocktails and imported Asian beers and sake. You might wait a bit for your food, but that only means they are making it from scratch in their open plan kitchen.
The plush private karaoke rooms which are charged by the hour, hold 6 to 12 people and are soundproof, making them a safe space to let those vocals loose with only non-judgemental friends as your audience.
Take advantage of Happy hour from 4pm to 6pm daily at the Cedar Square branch with half price off drinks.
This innovative venue is perfect for hosting birthdays, work events or a simple time out with friends.

Not just any Asian restaurant, the charming
Momo Baohaus is worth its hype with a host of amazing flavours on its substantial menu including a variety of tapas, generously sized soft fluffy bao buns and an array of sushi options which will keep you spoilt for choice.
Vegetarians aren’t left out with many meat free mains and sushi dishes to choose from, and the option to swap out meat or fish with tofu.
Although they don’t hold a liquor license the restaurant does accommodate guests who’d like to bring their own alcohol, with no corkage fee charged.
Book a table, especially if you’re coming on the weekend to avoid missing out, however with a few partner restaurants around Jozi you have the options of trying out one of their other nearby branches.
For a reasonably priced Asian fusion experience Momo Baohaus is where it’s at.
