Find Out Your Vitality Age

Your Vitality Age is a good indicator of how healthy you are in relation to your actual age. You’ll need to fill in a questionnaire that’ll measure all aspects of your wellness, including exercise, nutrition, and stress. The sections in the questionnaire cover everything — yours and your family’s medical history, your key measurements ( have a measuring tape and scale handy), your smoking status, alcohol intake and eating habits, productivity, stress levels, as well as physical and other activity levels. Be as accurate (and honest) as possible. Points earned: 2 500 Vitality points. Tip: You can also activate the HealthyFood Benefit and receive up to 15% back on HealthyFood bought at Pick n Pay or Woolworths when you discover your Vitality Age. Discovery Vitality

Know Your Health

Discovery offers a number of assessments to determine how healthy and fit you are. The more steps you take to understand and improve your health, the more points you earn. Assessments you can do include: Vitality Health Check This is made up of five measures – blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, a BMI assessment which includes weight, height, and waist circumference, and signing a non-smokers declaration. Points earned: Up to 20 000 Vitality points depending on how many results are in range. Vitality Fitness Assessment This measures your fitness level and is made up of two parts – your cardiovascular fitness level and your strength and flexibility. After this assessment, a bio-kineticist will inform you what you need to focus on to get stronger and fitter. Points earned: 2 500 Vitality points and up to an additional 5 000 Vitality points depending on your fitness level. Vitality High-Performance Fitness Assessment For athletes among you who take part in sports regularly, this assessment will test your physical fitness and endurance using a maximal test. Before you do this assessment, you may need clearance from your doctor. Points earned: A bonus of up to 10 000 Vitality points on top of the points earned from the fitness assessment.
