The ever growing appeal of the Volkswagen’s city car, Up! has been further boosted with the addition of extra doors, two new lifestyle derivatives, cross up! and colour up! as well as infotainment option, Touch & More. This is ground breaking as the five door vehicle was only available in Europe.
Since its local launch in February 2015, Up! has only been offered as a 3-door model. Customers now have an option of buying a 5-door or 3-door Take Up! and Move Up! derivatives.
To date, Volkswagen Up! has sold over 3 550 units in South Africa which makes one of the dominant models in the small car segment.
Furthermore, two new subsidiary products have been added into the model range. Both are powered by the 1.0 55kW engine and mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
cross Up!
The cross Up! offers customised styling of a small SUV. It's sporty and rugged appearance is marked by exclusive exterior and interior elements. They include exterior features such as side mirrors painted in silver, anodised silver roof rails, black protective side moulding, fog lights with chrome trim surrounding and 16-inch ‘Cross’ alloy wheels. Its powerful appearance is further enhanced by 15mm ride height. The interior features a leather steering wheel, exclusive ‘Cross’ seat trim in red or grey, coloured dash pad in Deep Black Pearl (standard) or Tornado Red (optional) and scuff plates with ‘Cross’ lettering.
The standard safety and convenience features include four air bags, ESP, power steering, front electric windows, remote central locking and radio/CD.

These include safety and convenience equipment such as four air bags, ESP, power steering, front electric windows, remote central locking, leather steering wheel, Radio/CD, front fog lights and height adjustable driver and front passengers seats. On the outside, the colour up! differentiates itself with 17-inch ‘Polygon’ alloy wheels (painted in Fortana red or Sandstorm yellow), painted side mirrors (also painted in Fortana red or Sandstorm yellow), dark tinted windows and decorative stripe on the side.
