What Is It?
unlearn is written and performed by award-winning actor MoMo Matsunyane. The play is about a young woman, Angel Mojapelo who dreams of having a career in stand-up comedy. However, at the ripe old age of 27, her unfulfilled career choices begin to weigh heavily on her heart and mind. She struggles with depression and anxiety, using her comedy to escape past traumas. When Angel is raped at a party her life changes forever. She discovers that she has fallen pregnant by someone she doesn’t know or even remember. Refusing to bear the shame of what happened to her, she makes a decision that changes her fate completely.
