Uncover the Magic of Honeydew Mazes

Joburg Admin / May 7, 2025

Forget everything you know about ordinary outings. Honeydew Mazes turns a walk in the reeds into a full-blown adventure that’s part quiz show, part scavenger hunt, and all heart. With themed gardens, moonlit mystery nights, and team challenges that even adults secretly love, it’s a maze for every age, every occasion, and every curious soul.

Minds, Mazes & Magic: The Honeydew Experience

The Elemental Maze is not just a walk—it’s a storybook of nature woven into a challenge of intellect and teamwork. Built entirely from indigenous reed fencing, the maze spirals into five uniquely themed Secret Gardens, each inspired by a different element: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Reflection. These gardens are more than beautiful pit stops—they’re interactive hubs that unlock deeper sections of the maze as you complete them. Designed for all ages, this maze demands some reading and writing, making it both fun and subtly educational. Find more at: Elemental Maze

Moonlight Mazes

Moonlight Mazes deliver a completely different kind of magic. Held under the stars and lit by torchlight, the next moonlit maze night is set for Saturday, 10 May 2025—weather permitting, complete with a bonfire! Gates open at 5:15 PM so guests can catch the sunset, enjoy picnics (no braais), and explore smaller mazes before the main event begins at 6:15 PM sharp. The entire crowd enters the giant maze together, in teams of no more than five. With torches in hand and quiz sheets ready, it’s a nighttime adventure that blends mystery, memory, and a sprinkle of adrenaline. Everyone emerges with stories—and of course, ice cream. Kid’s Parties

Kid’s Parties at Honeydew Mazes are celebrations wrapped in fun and adventure. Available on weekends from either 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, each party is set under shady trees with picnic tables and benches. Kids receive juice, chips, and a maze challenge with an ice cream finish. The 90-minute maze session kicks off after all guests have arrived (within 30 minutes of start time), and safety is key—every team must include a supervising adult. Final costs are based on headcount and coffee shop tabs, settled post-party. Pre-booking with a R1,000 deposit secures your party zone. Details here: Parties

School Outings

School Outings turn educational field trips into unforgettable mini-quests. Scheduled on weekdays from 9:00 AM to noon, students are divided into teams of four and guided through the giant maze for 90 minutes. After the maze, they enjoy a packed lunch, followed by puzzles and a prize-giving ceremony with—yes—more ice cream. These must be pre-booked and pre-paid, making planning easy and the day even more enjoyable for teachers and learners alike. Full details at: School Outings

Corporate Teambuilding and Events

Corporate Teambuilding and Events go beyond trust falls and awkward icebreakers. Honeydew offers two formats: a 4-hour standard experience and a 6-hour deep dive into collaborative fun. Both include the giant maze challenge with teams of four, quizzes, and prize-giving. The 6-hour event also introduces the Memory Maze, which requires strategic communication across an invisible grid, and the Blindfold Maze, where teams must navigate using only instructions from a sighted leader. After the maze, groups can enjoy lunch, puzzles, and relaxed social time. Events are BYO-friendly (they’re not licensed) and require a 50% deposit to book. Explore more: Corporate Events
