Distinguished by an exclusive, American-made fabric, TUMI has transformed a traditionally hard-side carbon fibre material into a collection of high-performance soft travel bags and accessories.
Constructed from, CX6™, an exclusive, flexible soft carbon fibre, CFX is symbolic to TUMI’s design, pushing the boundaries of innovation. Distinguished as both a premium material and high-performance fabric, CFX is engineered with exceptional qualities, which is fitting to the brand.
TUMI’s carbon fibre material, in partnership with American manufacturer Carbitex, is woven and engineered at one of the nation’s oldest weaving mills by using a five-step process including a wet infusion. The result is a dense, abrasion-resistant material, which aids in preserving the purity and durability of carbon fibre’s charcoal sleek finish.
In addition to existing styles across wheeled travel, soft travel, day bags and accessories, two new styles will be offered – the Elvington International 4-Wheel Carry-On and the Tanaka Portfolio brief.
The Elvington Carry-On is crafted from structured CX6 fabric, bringing a new level of sophistication in engineering and distinguished design. The outer appearance features a patent-pending Durafold construction, optimising the capacity, therefore giving it the ultimate functionality and performance. The inside features a suite compartment with hanger bracket, pockets for accessories and tie-down straps. The exterior has retractable leather top and side handles, a telescoping handle, top and side carry handles and four recessed dual wheels designed for effortless mobility.
