The Sterkfontein Caves are located in Maropeng and are world famous for the amazing fossil discoveries that have been made here. It’s recommended that you take a tour through the caves so that you don't miss out on anything! The most significant fossil discoveries in the caves were 'Mrs Ples', a 2.1-million-year-old Australopithecus skull, and 'Little Foot', an almost complete Australopithecus skeleton that is over three-million years old!
