La Parada
When it comes to Spanish Restaurants In Joburg,
La Parada is top of mind. Visiting either their Waterfall Corner or Parkhurst Square branch is quite an experience, as the restaurant takes over all your senses to ensure you are 100% immersed in Spanish culture. From the eclectic and bright tiles to a variety of intriguing chairs, you are immediately drawn into a truly Spanish setting.
The breakfast menu’s shining star is the Breakfast Fry Up, as the chorizos rightfully bully the eggs, bacon, mushrooms, confit cherry tomatoes and slice of toast. The main menu elevates Spanish food by conjuring up dishes such as Truffle Potato Crisps and Prawn Croquetas.
La Parada would not be an authentic Spanish eatery if did not have one-bite tapas, including flavours such as Cauliflower Popcorn, Grilled Calamari, Tuna Tacos and Pork Belly.

Urbanologi
Nothing in Ferreirasdorp, in the middle of the Joburg CBD, screams or even whispers anything Spanish. This changes as soon as you walk into
Urbanologi, which has you aching to be in Barcelona, Ibiza or Bilbao.
Chef Jack uses the highest quality fresh ingredients (grown next door, within the Mad Giant Brewery complex) to come up with inspired dishes. These include duck pancakes, a series of fusion tapas and experimental dishes, such as ginger ice cream, and tantalising Fried Chicken Skin, Sardine and Mayo bites.
Whatever happens, order the Doenjang Glazed and Charred Beef Cheeks tapas with truffle cauliflower puree and shaoshing braised onions. What a wow! To really elevate your experience, pair the delicacies with the craft beer brewed on-site.

La Boqueria
La Boqueria is an all-day eatery in the über-trendy Parktown North, taking its inspiration from iconic food markets, such as London’s Borough Market and Barcelona’s La Boqueria on Las Ramblas.
The menu is mostly Spanish, but darts from one corner of the globe to another to encapsulate delicious market-style food. All the dishes are designed with two things in mind: sharing and feasting. The focus is on traditional styles of cooking (using skillets, wood ovens and live fires) and makes for a
real food experience. The term ‘eat with your eyes first’ applies here.
The lunch and dinner menu runs the gauntlet from healthy (Peruvian ceviche) to fried (street food-style finger food such as samosas, bhajhias and patatas bravas) and more. The paellas are slow-cooked, in a traditional hearth for a delicious, smoky flavour. Some of the highlights of the Coals menu are the 500g rib-eye on the bone and the whole fish, but don’t leave without trying the kababs – lamb, chicken, beef or pork belly – skewered, marinated overnight and grilled on the coals to maximize the flavour. For dessert, take your pick from churros, gin-tonic tart, whoopie pie and more street sweets.
