Top Five Micro Breweries In Johannesburg

Joburg Admin / January 31, 2024

Johannesburg's craft beer scene is booming, with a myriad of microbreweries offering unique and flavourful brews to satisfy every palate. Whether you're a seasoned beer enthusiast or just dipping your toes into the world of craft beer, exploring the top microbreweries in Johannesburg is a must-do experience.

Just Brewing at Hops End

Just Brewing Company, which started up in January 2014, is a family-owned-and-run brewery based in Benoni. Their focus is on producing brews of the highest quality and therefore they don’t filter or add additives to their beers. Furthermore, the beer is bottle-conditioned and, as always, best enjoyed chilled and can be found on tap at Hop’s End.

Brewhogs Micro Brewery

Did you know? Brewhogs started way back in 1984 when its brewmaster was commissioned to construct a mock brewery setup for Gold Reef City as a tourist attraction. What soon followed was, well, liquid egoli in the form of sweet suds for the public's continuous enjoyment. Moreover, with their current expansion, the 3000 liter brewery now has the capacity to produce in excess of 40 000 liters per month.
