Johannesburg, South Africa. Following years of extraordinary growth and support, the event formerly known as the Specialty Coffee Expo enters a bold new era as the Jo’burg Coffee Festival, taking place from 29 – 31 May at Jo’burg’s favourite venue, Fourways Mall.
The event is elevated in every sense, moving from the mall’s centre court to a spacious, vibrant rooftop environment!
What began as a focused celebration of specialty coffee has grown into something far bigger. Driven by its success and the passion of South Africa’s coffee community, the festival has evolved into a multi-day experience that brings together coffee, culture, flavour, and craft on an unprecedented scale.#
At its core, the Jo’burg Coffee Festival remains grounded in excellence. The Specialty Coffee Roasters Village continues to be strictly specialty only, showcasing the very best specialty coffee roasters in South Africa and reaffirming the festival’s deep roots in quality, provenance, and craft.
Building on that foundation, the Jo’burg Coffee Festival expands to reflect how people experience coffee today. Across the festival, visitors can explore the latest brewing tools and coffee equipment, take part in cupping stations, and attend education sessions presented by the African School of Coffee, designed to educate, inspire, and spark curiosity at every level.
For the first time in Johannesburg, the festival also brings together a diverse food offering, a craft beer and wine bar, and live music, transforming the event into a full-scale celebration that extends well beyond the cup.
“This is not a rebrand for the sake of change. The Jo’burg Coffee Festival is the result of a show that has grown beyond its original scope. Specialty coffee remains the heartbeat, but the experience has expanded to match the scale, energy, and diversity of the community that built it.”
Tickets for the Jo’burg Coffee Festival are now available at itickets.co.za. Vendor applications are also open at www.coffeefestival.co.za.
This May, FOURWAYS MALL hosts what is set to be the biggest celebration of coffee South Africa has ever seen, with specialty coffee remaining central and the festival experience finally reflecting the momentum behind it.
