We first visited The House of Ribs way back in 2009. Their Boksburg location is famed for its excellent service, warm family atmosphere and delectable array of buffet style dishes. That's why we were so excited to hear that they've recently opened a new branch in Meadowdale. We stopped by on a Sunday morning to sample their epic breakfast buffet. But before we get into our review of the restaurant, let's explore a bit more about this much loved family friendly eatery:
Hearty food, hearty people
The House of Ribs is a place where families meet to enjoy a hearty meal, served with a smile. Their reputation as one of the best family style restaurants precedes them. As you walk in the door, you will be welcomed by their friendly staff. You can then either take a seat to order drinks, or head straight to the buffet.
Here you'll find a delicious array of carvery meals served from 12pm daily. Tuck into The House of Ribs' famous beef, lamb or pork ribs served with your choice of rice, veggies or chips. They also serve roast beef and pork, pizza, grilled chicken, salads and desserts as part of their everyday buffet special. The restaurant serves a wide variety of main sit down meals too. You'll be swept away by their divine selection of steaks, buffalo wings, seafood platters and more. We won't blame you for overeating. It's a feast for the eyes and the tummy at The House of Ribs.
Kiddies menu
Don't waste your energy slaving over the stove when you could be enjoying a fantastic family meal at The House of Ribs. It's the ideal midweek family restaurant outing. The kiddies menu features a yummy selection of hamburgers, fish fingers, ribs and chicken strips. The little ones will beam from ear to ear after devouring their meals. And you'll get the much needed break you need from planning and cooking dinner. Everybody wins at The House of Ribs, so book yourself and the family a table as soon as you can.
Breakfast Buffet
If you happen to be without plans on a weekday morning, head over to The House of Ribs. Their Everyday Plated Breakfast is an absolute steal. You get two eggs, two rashers of bacon, three beef sausages, two slices of toast, sautéed mushrooms, baked beans and one cup of tea or coffee for just R49!
We'll definitely be by soon to try it out, but in the meantime we treated ourselves to their divine breakfast buffet special. It's an all you can eat breakfast feast. Take your pick of bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, tomato and onion sauce, toast, fruit salad, yoghurt and tea or coffee for only R89. You won't find breakfast as good and as reasonable as this anywhere else. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite of our breakfast spread. Get yourself down to the House of Ribs this weekend to experience it for yourself.
